Monday, 11/1 -- Fruitcakes? ...On Halloween?
I took two days off from the blog basically because the cooking class wiped me out.
I'm back, I'm well rested and I'm glad that I don't have to leave the house today.
So, the class was a lot of fun. The class time was divided into breakfast, lecture, demonstration, lunch, hands on cooking and dinner. It went from 9:00 to 6:00 on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday we left around 2:30.
I already knew a lot about cooking things from scratch, but I also knew that there was even more that I didn't know. You can't go into any classroom with a know-it-all attitude, otherwise you'll learn nothing.
I picked up a lot of good tips, tricks and techniques. Met a couple of fruitcakes. Ate an insane amount of food. Cooked an insane amount of food. Tried many new products and ingredients. And I had a great time hanging out with my sister, brother and sister-in-law.
Health
In other news, we haven't heard back from the oncologists yet concerning the results of Thursday's CAT Scan or how they will determine tomorrow's chemotherapy. We may not find out until we go into the office tomorrow morning at 9am.
Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to taking more chemo treatments. I can't believe I'm at Round #6. It seems so unreal. I look back on the past few months and marvel at the journey. I look forward to the next few months and I fear the unknown.
If anyone out there has a crystal ball, please tell me where I'll be 3 months from now. I'll cook you a delicious meal in return. (No rutabagas.)
